Emery Planning has secured planning permission, on appeal, to extend the hours of operation of a car wash at the former Kings Arms Service Station (now Shines Car Wash), Alderley Road, Wilmslow. This includes an extension to the weekday hours and the ability to now operate on Sundays and Bank Holidays. The council’s reason for refusal was that the Sunday and Bank Holiday operating hours would harm the amenity of nearby residential properties. Following an assessment of the evidence presented and a site visit, the Inspector concluded that the proposed hours would not result in any intrusive impact on the amenity of neighbouring property and allowed the appeal. This appeal followed the successful appeal for the car wash to operate from the site in 2018.
