13 Regent Close – Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council

Emery Planning has secured full planning permission for the demolition of one dwelling and the construction of 4 dwellings on land at Regent Close, Bramhall. The application was refused on the grounds that the development would be harmful to the locality and have an adverse impact upon the setting of the adjacent Syddal Park Conservation Area. It was also refused on the grounds that there was no provision for recreation and amenity open space for the proposed development. The Inspector concluded that the proposed development would not harm the character and appearance of the appeal site, surrounding area or the setting/significance of the Syddal Park Conservation Area. Following the submission of a legal agreement to provide a commuted sum towards the provision and maintenance of open space, the Inspector concluded the proposed development makes the necessary provision for recreation and amenity open space.
