Emery Planning is pleased to have secured retrospective planning permission for the installation of a small unit to house a milk vending machine at Wickenstone Farm, Biddulph Moor.
Wickenstone Farm is a large dairy farm on approximately 150 acres with over 120 dairy cattle, located within the Green Belt and the open countryside.
The applicant installed a former shipping container to house a self service vending machine selling milk and milks shakes ,with milk produced on the farm to help increase the revenue on the farm by selling direct to the public. The shipping container had been fitted out internally to provide a clean and tidy environment and clad externally with vertically boarded timber, a timber lobby has also been provided for protection due to the exposed location.
Staffordshire Moorlands District Council agreed with the arguments put forward that the unit was not inappropriate development in the Green Belt or would cause any undue harm to the character of the landscape. They also agree that a small unit selling on site produce is justified.
The application was handled by Clare Gascoigne , Senior Consultant
